Contact Sheet 2

Although I was pleased with how my first set of images turned out I wanted to try out the same technique around other parts of the city and at different times thoroughout the day. For my second shoot I decided that taking pictures of restless Christmas shoppers would give me a similar result to that of the ice skaters. Once more this environment consisted of crowds coming at all angles, creating great momentum.  Again shooting only in Tv mode, purposely set to 1/4 applied the sufficent amount of blur that I wanted. Reviewing both sets of images, I find it every easy to differentiate in terms of how colour is presented in the day as opposed to night. The night scenes gave out more a illuminated, vibrant hue of  blues and deep purple in turn creating a magical fairytale-like atmosphere. Whereas the harsh sunlight of the daytime makes the colours more subdued and isolated. Again with this spontanous process I had to wait for the crowds gather and the scene to naturally form until I was satifistied enough to click the shutter, however when the longwaited results emerged they proved the were worth the wait.
